Subclass 191 Visa Overview
The Subclass 191 visa is a Permanent Residence visa with two streams:
- Regional Provisional Stream
- Hong Kong Stream
Regional Provisional Stream
This stream is for individuals who have worked and lived in regional Australia.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must hold a Subclass 494 or Subclass 491 visa for at least 3 years.
- No minimum income requirement.
- Provide Notice of Assessment from the Australian Taxation Office for three years.
- At the time of application, the applicant may be inside or outside Australia.
- At the time of decision, the applicant may be inside or outside Australia.
Hong Kong Stream
This stream is for Hong Kong or British National (Overseas) passport holders.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must hold a Subclass 457, 482, or 485 visa:
- If granted before 9 July 2020, the visa must not expire after 8 July 2025.
- If granted on or after 9 July 2020, the visa must be valid for 5 years.
- Must hold a Hong Kong or British National (Overseas) passport.
- Must usually reside in regional Australia.
- Work or study must be in regional Australia.
