Subclass 820 Visa
Non-Australians who are in a genuine relationship with an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or qualified New Zealand citizen can apply for a partner visa.
You can apply for a partner whether you’re in a same-sex or opposite-sex relationship.
You must be in Australia when you apply for the 820 visa and you must be in Australia when the visa is granted.
When you apply for the 820 visa, you will be given a bridging visa that permits you to stay in Australia for a short period of time.
You are eligible for Medicare once you have applied for the 820 visa.
A temporary 820 visa will be issued to you at first.
You have two years from the day you submitted your initial application to apply for a permanent 801 visa.

A temporary 820 visa will be issued to you at first.
You have two years from the day you submitted your initial application to apply for a permanent 801 visa.
You must maintain a genuine and continuing relationship with your Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand partner in order for the category 801 visa to be granted.
For the 801 visa, there are no immigration fees.
Subclass 100 Visa
A temporary 309 visa will be issued to you at first.
You have two years from the day you submitted your initial application to apply for a permanent 100 visa.
You must maintain a genuine and continuing relationship with your Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand partner in order for the category 100 visa to be granted.
For the 100 visa, there are no immigration fees.
